Not that I'm freaking out or anything...

...But why the FUCK am I showing signs of ovulating TODAY??? The shot of hCG was supposed to make that happen the day I got injected! Yet, my underpants tell a different story. Yeah, gross, deal with it. I'm freaking out. It's way too soon to try and test; I know that much. So now I get to freak out hardcore for the next week and a half. Instead of just the normal freaking out.

I am physcially restraining myself from calling the doctor. But that's only because it's the end of the day and I know they aren't there. I'm totally calling in the morning though. And I hope they're ready for the nastiest phone call they'll get all day - "Why did I have the sticky shit coming out YESTERDAY and not FIVE DAYS AGO???" That's why they get paid the big bucks - to answer phone calls like this.

Julie? You may want to reconsider writing to me. I'm not a calm person by nature and it doesn't take much to send me flying right over the edge. Like right now, for instance.

Other than that, my day was going just swell. The weather is gorgeous, my boss wasn't here and I got a ton of stuff done at work. Two weeks from today I'm heading down to Florida to see my much-missed work friends and Sister. Were it possible to wish myself two weeks into the future, I would be climbing aboard the flux capacitor RIGHT NOW.

No good can come from thinking/talking/writing about this too much. So I'll stop.

Sending you huge hugs. It might not mean anything...

That said, are you guys allowed to have sex? I don't know how these things work, but if you are, maybe it couldn't hurt?

Again with the TMI, but for me, it was always very clear when I was ovulating, so I know where you're coming from.

Try to take some deep breaths and keep calm (yeah right!!)- if it's to be, it's to be. ((hugs))

You showed great restraint by not calling. I'm thinking about you sweet girl.

I asked my RE about this, too, because I was all over the board with cervical mucus this month. At first I thought I was ovulating early, and then the day after my IUI I thought I was ovulating late. However, I was told that the Follistim makes you produce extra cervical mucus. Those extra hormones don't exit your body instantly just because you ovulated. It's one of the effects of the drug. Also, about pregnancy testing early, although I know it is sooo hard not to, you really can't trust the results if you test early. The residual drugs can give you a false positive. All bets are off once you start shooting up.

I understand the angry and frustrated feeling - The first time I went through all this in 2006 I did 4 IUI's and 2 IVF's before I had a successful IUI. It took me forever to figure out everything that was going on. I think the clinics and doctors could do a much better job at educating their patients on what to expect, particularly things like this, and like the back pain I was having. I mean, a little head's up would be nice!

Oh boy, I don't know why I'm saying that coz I really don't have a much idea of what you are talking about (well a bit) but it sounds like it's got you all worked up!

Thinking of you and hoping it's good news!

I would be freaking out TOO. Incidentally, the cycle where this happened to me, it was because I ovulated twice. What I did in my panic was involve my husband, figuring more = better. And so we have twins.

Hey Swistle - did you do fertility treatment, too?

My wife is a walking pregnancy encyclopedia...I know too much about of which you speak! Just remember that EVERY "body" is different.

Thanks you guys; I'm feeling much better today - that was psycho. Brian calmed me down, per usual and said there's no reason to panic right now because - haha - there's nothing else we can do at this point anyway and he's right. I will try to keep future bathroom episodes to myself.

There's a big difference between "bathroom episodes" and "freakouts." Freakouts are meant to be shared. Otherwise what fun are they?

As for the fucked-up-ed-ness of your lady parts, well...I'm flashing back to my 10th grade Health class.

At that point in time, the health & PE classes were gender-segregated, so it was an all-guys class. The teacher was the assistant football coach (I actually ended up working with him at the lumberyard a few years later when he needed summer cash). He was explaining, very correctly and IMHO quite sensitively, the menstrual cycle.

He paused for a second and said that "Yes, this means that if a woman has a regular menstrual cycle, there are only a few days out of a month that she can get pregnant. But the truth is that every day women get pregnant on the first day of the month, last day of the month, even during their period." The guys shift nervously, and Coach continues:

"Men, I'm going to tell you something right now, and the sooner you learn it the better: there is nothing "regular" about a female."

He's right - it was a good lesson to learn! :D

So don't worry about little irregularities. It'll all work out for ya. In the meantime, rest assured that my household is thinkin' aboutcha.

TB - That made me smile. And I needed to smile, so thank you.
